Using AI as a Student Developing their Career.

Over the course of my participation in the AI Leaders Program, I have used AI in several instances as a strategic tool to help me in my early career development. It has helped support my networking, career exploration, and professional communication. It increases my workflow efficiency that supports me as a navigate the journey going from university to the workforce.
Example 1: AI Generated Networking Emails

Project Overview: Using Claude, I was able to organize over a hundred contacts from conferences to email. The emails included specific context from the event, professional goals, and an authentic voice that helped build relationships. Using an AI tool also assisted in researching the various career titles held my the individuals I met.

Outcome: This process transformed a large collection of contacts to an organized Excel spreadsheet that set up an email list to meaningfully message over a hundred contacts. This is critical to my career journey as I am able to create meaningful relationships in the professional realm in a short amount of time.
Example 2: Automated Academic Planning System

Project Overview: To improve organization and time management as a college student, I developed an AI-assisted workflow that converts all course syllabi uploaded into a structure and colorcoded calendar file that can be uploaded into Google and Outlook Calendars.

Instead of manually entering assignments, exams, deadlines, and other important dates. Claude is able to extract all the key dates, catagorize the course work, and generate a .ics file for importing into digital calandar platforms.

Outcome: This process significately reduces workloads at the beginning of school semesters. By creating a centralized, color-coded academic schedule I am able to stay organized and reduce missed deadlines. This allows me to focus on other career development opportunities.
